New Era University College Establishes IELTS Test Centre, Serving Candidates in Kajang and Surrounding Areas
New Era University College (NEUC) has officially become an IELTS test centre, providing greater access to IELTS testing for candidates in Kajang and surrounding areas. NEUC officially launched its IELTS test centre partnership with IDP Education on 30 September 2026. The new test centre will serve NEUC students and staff as well as candidates from surrounding areas, further expanding the University College’s international language testing services.
In her remarks, Yap Seow Yu, Head of the Language and Intercultural Centre, Institute of International Education, said that New Era University College has officially become the 21st IELTS test centre in IDP Education’s network in Malaysia. She noted that the partnership not only adds an international language testing service to the University College, but also reflects NEUC’s continued efforts towards internationalisation.
She said that language is more than a subject of study; it is an important bridge that connects people, promotes cultural exchange, provides access to knowledge and opens doors to international opportunities. As NEUC continues to expand international academic exchanges, student and staff exchanges, and cross-cultural learning, the establishment of the IELTS test centre will further support the University College in fostering a learning environment with a broader international outlook.
Thinesh Amaresin, IELTS Business Development Manager at IDP Education, said that New Era University College is located in Kajang and is close to several higher education institutions in the Bangi area. Given the limited availability of IELTS test centres in the area, NEUC is well positioned geographically for the establishment of a new test centre.
He noted that IELTS is recognised by numerous higher education institutions and organisations worldwide. The new test centre will provide more convenient access to IELTS testing for students who intend to pursue further studies overseas or seek academic and professional development opportunities. IDP Education also looks forward to building a strong and long-term partnership with New Era University College to provide more accessible IELTS testing services for students and the surrounding community.
The partnership further expands New Era University College’s international education services and lays the foundation for future collaboration between both parties in areas such as English language education and international examinations.
IELTS test sessions at the new test centre will be available soon. Follow the official Facebook pages of New Era University College and the Institute of International Education for the latest test information.
