2026 Sino-Malaysian Academic Seminar on E-Commerce Talent Cultivation Successfully Held at NEUC

On 13 August 2026, the 2026 Sino-Malaysian Academic Seminar on E-Commerce Talent Cultivation was successfully held at New Era University College (NEUC). Experts and scholars from China and Malaysia participated both online and in person, engaging in discussions on live-streaming marketing, digital e-commerce, cross-border e-commerce and artificial intelligence, while exploring new pathways for e-commerce talent cultivation that meet the development needs of both countries.

The seminar was jointly organised by Huainan Union University, New Era University College and the Education Association Between Malaysia and China, with the support of Malaysia Mango Media Sdn. Bhd. and Nabo Education Technology Co., Ltd. The seminar was organised by the Malaysia Huijiang Workshop of Huainan Union University and the Institute of International Education, New Era University College.

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Liu Yin, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice-Chancellor of Huainan Union University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tey Shi Bin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International & Corporate Development) of NEUC; and Mr. Teng Heng Hai, President of the Education Association Between Malaysia and China, delivered speeches respectively. They expressed the hope that the seminar would further promote educational and industry collaboration between China and Malaysia.

The keynote presentations and academic discussions were moderated by Prof. Ma Ying, Dean of the School of Humanities and Foreign Languages, Huainan Union University. Six experts from higher education institutions and the industry in China and Malaysia shared their insights and practical experiences in talent cultivation from different perspectives. The speakers included Associate Prof. Zhang Xiao Yan from the School of Economics and Management, Huainan Union University; Ms. Goh Jia Sin, Vocational Training Officer from the Department of Smart Industrial and Hospitality, NEUC; Prof. Dr. Vishalache A/P Balakrishnan from the Department of Educational Foundations and Humanities, University of Malaya; Prof. Du Hong Yan from Huaibei Vocational and Technical College; Mr. A Hua, Content Director of Malaysia Mango Media; and Prof. Wu Hui Hui from Anhui Zhong-Ao Institute of Technology.

The closing session featured remarks by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lew Siew Boon, Assistant Dean, Institute of International Education, NEUC. She expressed her hope that higher education institutions and industry partners in China and Malaysia would continue to work together to cultivate e-commerce talents equipped with international perspectives and practical capabilities.

The seminar not only provided a platform for academic and industry exchange in e-commerce between China and Malaysia, but also further expanded opportunities for cooperation in the digital economy and talent cultivation. It injected new impetus into educational collaboration between the two countries and the development of talents for the digital economy.
