Huaibei Vocational and Technical College Malaysia Xiangcheng College (Huijiang Workshop) Officially Unveiled
On 12 August 2026, the unveiling ceremony of the Huaibei Vocational and Technical College Malaysia Xiangcheng College (Huijiang Workshop) was held at New Era University College (NEUC), marking a new phase in the two institutions’ collaboration in vocational education and talent development.
Mr. Yuan Wei, Deputy Party Secretary of Huaibei Vocational and Technical College, led a delegation to visit NEUC and joined Prof. Dr. Mok Soon Chong, Vice-Chancellor of NEUC, in unveiling the Huijiang Workshop. Through the Huijiang Workshop as a key platform, both institutions will further promote the “Chinese Language + Vocational Skills Training” model and deepen educational cooperation in vocational education between Malaysia and China.
Prof. Dr. Mok warmly welcomed Mr. Yuan Wei and his delegation. He said that through the Huijiang Workshop, both institutions will share quality educational resources and further strengthen collaboration in areas such as talent development and faculty training.
Mr. Yuan Wei also introduced the history and achievements of Huaibei Vocational and Technical College. He expressed his hope that the two institutions would further expand their areas of collaboration, strengthen cooperation in talent development, continuously enhance the “Chinese Language + Skills” training system, and deepen the sharing and joint development of educational resources, thereby cultivating more highly skilled talents to support industrial transformation and development in Malaysia and China.
Moving forward, both institutions will further expand international cooperation in vocational education, promote deeper integration of professional education, skills training and international exchange, and explore more open and internationalised approaches to talent development. These efforts will provide students with broader opportunities for learning, exchange and personal development.
Representatives from Huaibei Vocational and Technical College consisted of Mr. Yuan Wei, Deputy Party Secretary, and Mr. Zhang Feng, Associate Dean of Construction Engineering College. The representatives from NEUC included Prof. Dr. Mok Soon Chong, Vice-Chancellor; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tey Shi Bin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International and Corporate Development) cum Dean, Institute of International Education (IIE); Mr. Lu Wei, Deputy Dean in Charge of Sino-Foreign School-Enterprise Cooperation in China, Institute of International Education (IIE); Ms. Phang Hui Ting, Head, Vocational Education Research Center, IIE; Lee Hong Yi and Ther Hui Yi, Education Programme Specialist of IIE.
