International Outreach Programme Welcomes Students from Himeji Commercial High School, Japan

On 7 August 2026, eight teachers and students from Himeji Commercial High School, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, visited New Era University College (NEUC) for an educational and cultural exchange. Through a campus tour and cultural engagements, the students gained a deeper understanding of the university’s learning environment while experiencing first-hand the unique charm of Malaysia’s multicultural society, providing them with valuable insights and inspiration for their future tertiary education plans.

During the visit, the delegation toured various facilities, including the specialised classrooms, Whiteroom Gallery, Tan Lark Sye Library and the Nantah Resource Centre, gaining further insights into NEUC’s development, programme features and learning resources. In addition to the campus tour, a series of cultural experiences showcasing Malaysia’s unique multicultural heritage was specially arranged. The activities were conducted and guided by Ms. Yap Seow Yu, Head of the Language and Intercultural Centre, Institute of International Education, who introduced Malaysian multiculturalism through engaging and interactive learning activities.

The exchange not only allowed the Japanese students to gain a more comprehensive understanding of NEUC’s learning environment, but also deepened their appreciation of Malaysia’s multicultural society through the cultural experiences. The visit further strengthened educational interaction and exchange between Malaysia and Japan. Moving forward, NEUC will continue to expand its international cooperation network through diverse exchange programmes and learning platforms, fostering cultural understanding and academic interaction among students from different countries while creating a more globalised learning environment.
