Delegation from Wuhan University
On 5 August 2026, a delegation of faculty members from Wuhan University visited the University. The visit aimed to facilitate in-depth dialogue through an on-site visit, explore potential avenues for collaboration, strengthen multilateral partnerships, and further advance educational exchange and development between Malaysia and China.
During the meeting, representatives from both institutions introduced their respective educational backgrounds, current developments, and future plans. They also engaged in constructive discussions on prospective areas of collaboration between the two universities, with particular emphasis on joint academic programme development and scholarly exchange.
Both parties expressed their commitment to working together to advance further collaborative initiatives, capitalise on their respective strengths, promote the internationalisation of education, and inject fresh momentum into regional educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges across Asia.
The Wuhan University delegation comprised professors, associate professors, and lecturers from the Department of CPC History and Party Building, the Department of Ideological and Political Education, and the Department of the Sinicization of Marxism. Members of the delegation included Prof. Dr. Li Hua, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lei Shanman, Dr.Yang Yan, Dr. Chen Linying, Dr. Liao Xinyuan, Dr. Xiang Kai, Dr. Du Heng, Dr. Zhao Yeyang, Dr. Wang Rong, and Dr. Bi Hongchang.
Representing the University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lew Siew Boon, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of International Education; Asst. Prof. Dr. Ng Khai Boon, Director of the Office of International Academic Exchange; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wong Wai Shee, Head of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pek Wee Chuen, Head of the Department of Southeast Asian Studies.
