Delegation from Baoding Vocational and Technical College
On 2 July 2026, a delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Li Cun, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of Baoding Vocational and Technical College, visited New Era University College (NEUC). The purpose of this visit was to conduct in-depth exchanges through an on-site inspection, explore more potential areas of cooperation, strengthen multilateral cooperative relations, and further promote educational exchanges and development between Malaysia and China.
During the meeting, representatives from both institutions introduced their respective educational backgrounds, current developments, and future plans, followed by constructive discussions on prospective areas of collaboration. Both institutions explored potential initiatives in joint academic programme development, academic exchanges, and talent cultivation. Through resource sharing and complementary strengths, they expressed their aspiration to expand collaborative opportunities, enhance the connectivity of educational resources, promote the internationalisation of higher education, and inject new momentum into regional educational cooperation and cultural exchanges.
Prior to the meeting, the delegation from Baoding Vocational and Technical College was given a campus tour led by Ms. Phang Hui Ting, Head, International Student Recruitment Office, Institute of International Education (IIE). The delegation visited the Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education, the Tan Lark Sye Library, and the Nantah Resource Centre, where they gained a deeper understanding of NEUC's educational philosophy, founding background, and the development of Chinese education in Malaysia.
Representatives from Baoding Vocational and Technical College consisted of Assoc. Prof. Li Cun, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Zhang Huiyong, Head of Continuing Education Department; Prof. Dr. Zhang Xiuqian, Head of the Department of Economics and Management; and Assoc. Prof. Zhao Jianwei, Head of the Department of Computer Science.
The representatives from NEUC included Prof. Dr. Mok Soon Chong, Vice-Chancellor; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tey Shi Bin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor; Asst. Prof. Dr. Frankie Goh Song Peng, Dean, Faculty of Accountancy, Management and Economics; Phang Hui Ting, Head, International Student Recruitment Office, IIE; Lim Wei Howe, Lecturer, Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Computing and Innovative Technology; Lee Hong Yi and Ther Hui Yi, Education Programme Specialist of IIE.
