Delegation from Sichuan Xinhua Publishing and Distribution Group Co., Ltd.

On 8 June 2026, a delegation from Sichuan Xinhua Publishing and Distribution Group Co., Ltd. visited the Tan Lark Sye Library of New Era University College (NEUC). The visit aimed to strengthen ties between both parties in the fields of publishing, cultural dissemination, and academic resource sharing, while promoting the international communication of Chinese culture and fostering publishing and educational exchanges between Malaysia and China.

The delegation from Sichuan Xinhua Publishing and Distribution Group Co., Ltd. included Liu Longzhang (Vice Chairman), Qi Qiuxiang (Editor-in-Chief of Sichuan People's Publishing House), Zhou Yi (Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Sichuan Literature and Art Publishing House), Yang Mengxiao (Senior Executive of the Strategic Development Department) and Wang Hongfei (Publishing Management Officer, Copyright and International Communication of Xinhua Winshare Publishing and Media Co., Ltd.).

Representing the NEUC were Yap Seow Yu (Head of the Language and Intercultural Centre, Institute of International Education), Brenda Choo Ly Er (Chief Librarian of the Tan Lark Sye Library), Angeline Tai Ting Ting (Deputy Chief Librarian), Lin Siew Chin (Head of Public Relations Department cum University-Enterprise Collaboration and Professional Development Training), Ang Sin Yee (Head of the Publicity Department cum Editor-in-Chief of Xinguang Magazine) and Tan Xiao Hui (Executive of the Publicity Department cum Executive Editor of Xinguang Magazine).

During the meeting, both parties introduced their respective institutional backgrounds, development initiatives, and key areas of work. The delegation also shared its experience in international communication and achievements in the publication of ancient Chinese texts and documents, as well as the development of major cultural events such as the Tianfu Book Fair and the Golden Panda Awards.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the Tan Lark Sye Library and the Resource Centre for Nantah University under the guidance of the NEUC team, gaining a deeper understanding of the Library’s distinctive collections and its preservation of Malaysian Chinese literary and historical materials. As a gesture of goodwill and support for academic exchange, Sichuan Xinhua Publishing and Distribution Group Co., Ltd. donated a five-volume edition of Wang Bing'en's Diary, an ancient-text publication produced by Bashu Publishing House, to enrich the library’s collections and further promote cultural and scholarly collaboration between the two parties.
