Delegation from Guangdong Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic
On 28 May 2026, a delegation from Guangdong Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic visited New Era University College (NEUC). The purpose of the visit was to strengthen and deepen the collaborative relationship between the two universities through exchanges, while exploring more feasible projects to further promote educational ties between Malaysia and China and to jointly cultivate professionals in various fields.
The representatives from Guangdong Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic are Ms. Wu Haixia (Vice-Chancellor), Assoc. Prof. Tao Zheng (Vice Dean of the School of Continuing Education), Ms. Jiang Yufen (Vice Dean of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship College), Assoc. Prof. Gao Lixin (Teacher of the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Yin Hua (Teacher of the School of Logistics Engineering), and Assoc. Prof. Zeng Xiangping (Teacher of the School of Electrical Engineering).
The representatives from NEUC included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lew Siew Boon (Assistant Dean, Institute of International Education), Mr. Lee Yin Loon (Director of the Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education), Asst. Prof. Dr. Long Ying Tai (Head of Department of Engineering and Industrial Engineering, Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education), Ms. Yiew Fei Xin (Head of Department of Smart Industrial and Hospitality, Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education), Asst. Prof. Dr. Chong Hue Yee (Head of Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering, Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education) and Ms. Que Jan Voon (Education Programme Specialist, Institute of International Education).
During the meeting, representatives from both universities began by reviewing and summarizing their previous collaborative projects. Building on this foundation, they engaged in focused discussions on multiple potential areas of cooperation, including faculty and student exchanges and joint training programs. Following the meeting, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lew Siew Boon, the delegation from Guangdong Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic visited the Tan Lark Sye Library to gain deeper insights into NEUC’s educational philosophy, founding background, and the development of Chinese education in Malaysia.
