Delegation from Liaocheng University
On November 26, 2025, a delegation from Liaocheng University visited New Era University College (NEUC). The purpose of the visit was to strengthen and deepen the collaborative relationship between the two universities through exchanges, while exploring more feasible projects to further promote educational ties between Malaysia and China and jointly cultivate professionals in various fields.
The representatives from Liaocheng University included Guan Yanping (Head, University Council), Li Weibin (Dean, School of Foreign Languages), Li Yubao (Dean, School of Pharmacy and Food Engineering), Guo Feng (Dean, School of Media Technology), Chen Chong (Deputy Dean, School of Physical Education), and Shan Shidong (Deputy Director, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange).
The representatives from NEUC included Azizan Othman(Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Research), Lew Siew Boon (Assistant Dean, Institute of International Education), Yap Seow Yu (Head, Language and Intercultural Centre, Institute of International Education), Wang Ruixin (Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, Institute of International Education), Ng Khai Boon(Office of International Academic Exchange, Institute of International Education), and Wong Jing Yin(Education Programme Specialist, Institute of International Education).
During the meeting, representatives from both universities introduced their respective educational backgrounds, current development status, and future plans. They held in-depth discussions on potential collaborative initiatives, including international Chinese language education, ASEAN studies, study tours, and joint faculty appointments. Subsequently, the Liaocheng University delegation toured the Tan Lark Sye Library, gaining a deeper understanding of NEUC’s educational philosophy, historical background, and the development of Chinese education in Malaysia.
This visit laid a solid foundation for future collaboration in joint program development, academic exchanges, and faculty and student mobility, and provided new momentum for educational cooperation between China and Malaysia.
