In July 2025, New Era University College (NEUC) welcomed six exchange students from Minnan Normal University -- they are Luo Xin, Wang Jiahui, Lin Luzhu, and Zhai Jiuge from the Master of International Chinese Education program, as well as Dang Linghui and Wan Guocong from the Master of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics program. As exchange students in the Master of Arts in Chinese Studies program, they engaged in a three-month in-depth academic exchange. Time flew by, and their three-month exploration journey came to an end amidst numerous trials and experiences. During this enriching period of learning, the six exchange students not only actively participated in Master of Arts in Chinese Studies related courses but also engaged in various academic courses and teaching practices at our campus, while also creating unforgettable cross-cultural exchange memories.
During their stay, the exchange students enthusiastically engaged in multiple academic activities such as the "15th Southeast Asian Chinese Language Teaching Convention" and the "2nd Kuala Lumpur World Chinese Education Forum". They also assisted the teachers from the Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in completing various course teaching tasks, demonstrating solid professional competence and a proactive learning attitude while accumulating valuable overseas teaching experience.
As their departure approached, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tey Shi Bin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International and Corporate Development), presented internship certificates and participation awards to the six exchange students. In return, the students expressed their gratitude to their mentors through a warm traditional Chinese tea ceremony, sharing the profound and long-standing tea culture, thus bringing a warm and perfect conclusion to their exchange journey.
May they carry the gains and blessings from this experience to continue shining on their future academic paths, becoming important ambassadors for educational exchange between Malaysia and China.
