𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐄𝐫𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞, 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚–𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞

On September 5, 2025, Zhang Xian, Deputy Director of the Changsha Municipal Development and Reform Commission, led a delegation from Changsha to visit New Era University College.

Speaking on behalf of the Changsha government, Zhang praised New Era’s dedication to education and multicultural development. She highlighted Changsha’s rich history, vibrant culture, and strong innovation capacity, noting that the visit aimed to deepen mutual understanding and explore future cooperation in education, cultural exchange, and youth talent development.

Prof. Dr. Mok introduced New Era’s history and academic strengths, including IT, business management, accounting, Chinese language education, Southeast Asian studies, and vocational training. He stressed the college’s commitment to holistic education, international collaboration, and cultivating globally minded talent.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Research) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azizan noted the growing presence of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia, which creates opportunities for higher education–industry partnerships in training, research, and cultural exchange.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International and Corporate Development) cum Dean of the Institute of International Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tey shared that since 2019, the Institute of International Education has enrolled over 900 international students from seven countries. The institute continues to expand academic collaborations worldwide, strengthening New Era’s role as an international education platform.

The delegation also included Changsha county and district leaders, trade officials, and representatives from multiple institutions, while New Era representatives included faculty deans, department heads, and Institute of International Education Staff.
