Delegation from South China Agricultural University Visits New Era University College to Establish Practical Teaching Base and Promote Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation

On 25 August 2025, the “Yonggen Sci-Tech Station (Malaysia), SCAU” was officially launched at New Era University College (NEUC), witnessed by representatives from both SCAU and NEUC. On the same day, the delegations also visited QL Poultry Farms Sdn. Bhd. in Mantin for the unveiling ceremony of the “Practical Teaching Base, SCAU”, further strengthening collaboration in agricultural research and talent cultivation.

At the meeting held at NEUC, both institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on key areas such as joint talent cultivation, intelligent husbandry, agricultural technology innovation, talent mobility, and industrial transformation, outlining future priorities and directions for collaboration. The delegation then visited QL Poultry Farms Sdn. Bhd., where the three parties exchanged views on the industry-academia-research cooperation model, exploring ways to promote technology transfer, research commercialization, and sustainable agricultural development. Through this model, SCAU’s research outcomes can be applied in local enterprises, NEUC contributes its strength in talent cultivation, while QL Poultry Farms provides platforms for student internships and employment — together advancing education, research, and industry integration.

The visiting delegation comprised Prof. Dr. Xie Qingmei (Dean, College of Animal Science), Prof. Dr. Wang Yan (Head, Department of Intelligent Husbandry), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhang Zebin (College of Animal Science), Mr. Chen Feiyang (Head, Student Affairs Office), and eight postgraduate students. 

NEUC representatives included Prof. Dr. Mok Soon Chong (Vice-Chancellor), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tey Shi Bin (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International and Corporate Development), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azizan Othman (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Research), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lew Siew Boon (Assistant Dean, Institute of International Education), Asst. Prof. Dr. Loong Ying Tai (Head, Department of Engineering and Department of Industrial Engineering), and Ms. Wong Jing Yin (Education Programme Specialist, Institute of International Education).
