Delegation from China Confucius Research Institute and China Confucius Foundation
On August 11, 2025, a delegation from the China Confucius Research Institute and the China Confucius Foundation visited New Era University College (NEUC) for an exchange meeting to discuss in depth the establishment of the “Confucius Hub” and future directions for collaboration.
The visiting delegation has included Prof. Dr. Kong Deli (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the China Confucius Research Institute), Ms. Li Qing (Director of the Department of Exchange and Cooperation, Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies) (Secretariat of the China Confucius Foundation of China), and Dr. Wang Shengchen (Assistant Researcher).
Representing NEUC were Prof. Dr. Mok Soon Chong (Vice-Chancellor), Ms. Lee Yun Xin (Head, Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, Institute of International Education), Ms. Yap Seow Yu (Head of Language and Intercultural Centre, Institute of International Education) and Ms. Joanne Tan Jing Yee (Lecturer, Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, Institute of International Education)
During the meeting, both parties has exchanged views on the background and development goals of the “Confucius Hub” at NEUC. Approved earlier this year as one of the only three newly established units, it is also the second “Confucius Hub” in Malaysia. The “Confucius Hub” is dedicated to inheriting and promoting the spirit of Confucian culture, using education as a bridge to foster cultural transmission and exchange. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mok stated that the “Confucius Hub” will be located in the NEUC Nantah Building.
After the meeting, representatives exchange of gifts and took a group photo to commemorate the visit.
