14 Finalists Advance to the Grand Stage of the 2025 National Chinese Star Competition for Non-Chinese Secondary School Students
Organized by the Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at New Era University College, the 2025 National Chinese Star Competition for Non-Chinese Secondary School Students held its preliminary round online on 26 July. The event attracted over 160 enthusiastic participants from all across Malaysia, including non-Chinese, mixed-heritage, and foreign secondary school students from non-Chinese language backgrounds. Fourteen contestants have successfully advanced to the final round.
The competition is supported by the Sports, Co-Curricular and Arts Division (BSKK) of the Ministry of Education Malaysia and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malaysia, and co-promoted by Kunkwan International Mandarin Training Centre as the official outreach partner.
The event aims to promote Chinese language learning in Malaysia and provide a platform for students from non-Chinese language backgrounds to showcase their Chinese proficiency and talents in Chinese culture. It also seeks to enhance mutual understanding and cultural exchange among Malaysia’s diverse ethnic communities.
