On July 18, a delegation from Lama International Universal Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. visited New Era University College (NEUC) to explore collaborative opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI) research and educational applications. The visit aimed to promote the comprehensive development of AI education—from teaching and research by educators to broader student learning—and to further strengthen educational exchanges and cooperation between Malaysia and China.

During the meeting, both parties introduced their institutional backgrounds and future development plans. In-depth discussions were held on potential collaborations, including AI research, smart education equipment support, and talent development. As part of the visit, Lama International also donated AI educational equipment valued at RMB 1 million to NEUC, intended to support teaching and research in AI education.

Following the discussions, the two parties officially signed an international Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant step toward implementing collaborative projects in the near future.

The representatives from Lama International Universal Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd included Mr. Jiang Zhaoyu(Chairman), Mr. Wang Jianping(Vice Chairman), Mr. Beh Hai Yau(General Manager) and Mr. Sun Zhen(Sales Director).

The representatives from NEUC included Prof Dr. Mok Soon Chong (Vice-Chancellor),  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lew Siew Boon (Head, International Academic Exchange Office, Institute of International Education), Asst. Prof. Dr. Ang Yang Yi (Dean, Faculty of Computing and Innovative Technology), Senior Lecturer Ms. Phang Hui Ting (Head, International Student Recruitment Office, Institute of International Education), Ms. Yap Seow Yu, (Head, Department of Language and Intercultural Centre, Institute of International Education) and Ms. Koh Hew Man (Education Programme Specialist, University-Enterprise Collaboration & Professional Development Training).
