New Era University College Representatives Attend "Launch Ceremony of the Southeast Asia Network for Chinese Language Education"
On July 1, 2025, Dr. Ong Swee Kok, Dean of the Institute of Chinese Education, New Era University College (NEUC), was invited to attend the "Launch Ceremony of the Southeast Asia Network for Chinese Language Education", hosted by the Chinese International Education College (Overseas Education College) of Xiamen University. The ceremony took place at Xiamen University, aiming to establish a regional hub for international Chinese education information and foster in-depth exchanges and cooperation in language and culture among Southeast Asian nations.
During the ceremony, representatives from NEUC, Xiamen University, and 30 heads of Chinese departments and Chinese-language schools from 10 Southeast Asian countries jointly witnessed the unveiling of the "Southeast Asia Network for Chinese Language Education" and participated in its first working meeting.
Dr. Ong Swee Kok reviewed the development of Chinese education in Southeast Asia, emphasizing the crucial role of the Chinese language and education in preserving "cultural genes". He expressed optimism that the Southeast Asia Network would play an active role in academic exchanges and international cooperation.
NEUC remains committed to the principles of sharing and mutual benefit, looks forward to deepening international exchanges and cooperation with China and ASEAN countries, actively promoting and implementing more projects beneficial to faculty and students, advancing the collaborative development of Chinese education in Southeast Asia, and jointly writing a new chapter in international friendship.
