Delegation from Hong Kong Chu Hai College
On May 20, 2025, a 22-member delegation from Hong Kong Chu Hai College, led by Associate Professor Dr. Chow Ching Wai, Head of the Chinese Literature Department, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, visited New Era University College (NEUC) for an academic exchange program.
The delegation accompanied by Ms. Phang Hui Ting (Head of the International Student Recruitment Office) and Ms. Que Jan Voon (Education Programme Specialist) toured the Tan Lark Sye Library and the Nantah Resource Centre to gain insights into the university’s founding history and educational philosophy. Subsequently, Ms. Phang Hui Ting introduced the master's and doctoral programs.
To further explore the theme of Chinese diaspora studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Pek Wee Chuen (Head of the Department of Southeast Asian Studies) delivered a special lecture on the early commercial and mining ventures of Loke Yew before his rise in Hong Kong, offering an in-depth academic perspective.
The event concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts and a group photo, marking a meaningful close to the visit.
