New Era University College Representative Attend League of Tropical Universities 2025 Summit at Hainan University
On April 13-16, 2025, New Era University College participated in the League of Tropical Universities 2025 Summit, hosted by Hainan University. The institution was represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Lew Siew Boon, Head of the International Academic Exchange Office at the Institute of International Education.
During the summit, Dr. Lew engaged in discussions with representatives from Hainan University’s School of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry (which also operates as the School of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, School of Rural Revitalization). Both parties explored potential collaborations in research, academic exchanges, and technology transfer. Notable participants from Hainan University included Dean Prof. Miao Weiguo, Party Committee Secretary Prof. Yu Xudong, Vice Deans Prof. Wang Zhiyong, Prof. Yu Wengang, and Prof. Wang Rui, along with Dr. Dan Zhang, Director of the International Cooperation Office.
Following the meeting, Vice Dean Prof. Wang Zhiyong guided Dr. Lew on an informative tour of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Provincial-Ministerial Co-construction for Natural Rubber and Rubber Biology Laboratory at Hainan University, where they exchanged valuable insights on rubber research and technological advancements.
