Guangzhou University Delegation Visits New Era University College

On March 27, a delegation from Guangzhou University visited New Era University College for an academic exchange focused on the overseas transmission of the Maritime Silk Road's history and culture.

Representing Guangzhou University were several distinguished scholars: Professor Sun Yanming, Vice President; Professor Li Yan, Deputy Dean of Academy of Scientific Research; Professor Liu Feifei, Deputy Dean of School of Fine Arts and Design; Professor Zhang Su, Deputy Director of Maritime Silk Road Key Laboratory Executive; and Zeng Kesi, the School of Fine Arts and Design. Their delegation brought particular expertise in maritime cultural studies and artistic heritage preservation.

New Era University College fielded an equally accomplished team: Associate Professor Dr. Tey Shi Bin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International and Corporate Development); Assistant Professor Raha binti Jaafar, Dean of Faculty of Creative Arts; Professor Dr. Lew Bon Hoi, Head of Center of Malaysian History; Assistant Professor Dr. Lew Siew Boon, Head of International Academic Exchange Office; and Mr. Mah Siu Zhun, Education Programme Specialist. Their representatives contributed valuable perspectives on Southeast Asian cultural history and international academic cooperation.

During the meeting, both universities introduced their institutional histories and engaged in in-depth discussions about future research directions for Maritime Silk Road cultural studies, identifying several potential collaborative projects. The event concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts and a group photograph, marking a promising start to future academic cooperation between the two institutions.
