Delegation from the Federation of Calligraphy Society Malaysia & Sichuan Normal University
On November 5, 2024, a delegation from the the Federation of Calligraphy Society Malaysia and Sichuan Normal University visited New Era University College for a friendly exchange and discussion. The purpose of this visit was to explore potential collaborations in the field of calligraphy education and to identify feasible joint projects among the three parties.
The visiting representatives included Mr. Ng Swee Kheng (President of Calligraphy Society Malaysia) and his wife Mrs. Lin Qing Hong, Professor Wang Xingguo (Vice Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Calligraphy, Sichuan Normal University) and Dr. Gao Yungang (Head of the Calligraphy Department, Sichuan Normal University). The representatives from NEUC included Ms. Yap Seow Yu (Head of Department, Language and Intercultural Centre) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pua Shiau Chen (International Academic Exchange Office).
Accompanied by Ms. Yap Seow Yu and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pua Shiau Chen, the representatives visited the Tan Lark Sye Library and the Resource Centre for Nanyang University to gain insight into the development of the university and Chinese education in Malaysia. During the ensuing discussion, representatives from the three parties introduced their respective institutions' backgrounds and strategic directions, exploring potential areas of collaboration in the field of calligraphy education, with the aim of jointly advancing and implementing related projects.
