Registration and Orientation Day for Undergraduate International Students May 2025 Intake
To warmly welcome the arrival of new international students, the Institute of International Education of New Era University College held the "Registration and Orientation Day for Undergraduate International Students May 2025 Intake" on May 7, 2025. The event aimed to help students quickly adapt to their new academic environment and embark on a fulfilling university journey.
The event began with a welcome speech by Ms. Lee Hui Wen, Head of International Student Affairs Department. She acknowledged the courage and determination it takes for international students to leave their home countries and enter a new and challenging environment. She emphasized that university is not only a place for acquiring knowledge but also a stage for personal growth. In addition to focusing on academics, students should also strive for a balanced lifestyle, make friends, explore their identities, and pursue their dreams. She encouraged students to embrace cultural differences with an open mind, actively integrate into local life, participate in campus activities, and build connections with peers from diverse backgrounds to enrich their study abroad experience.
Following the speech, Ms. Lee Hui Wen and Ms. Wong Jing Yin, Education Programme Specialist, provided practical information on academics and daily life, including academic expectations, campus facilities, cultural adaptation, and everyday living tips.
The event not only helped international students gain a deeper understanding of their new learning environment but also offered a platform for building friendships and social networks—laying a solid foundation for their future studies and life on campus.
