Up Close with History: Unveiling Selangor's Cultural Gems

On November 30, 2024, the Institute of International Education organized a cultural trip for 37 international students to explore Malaysia's diverse culture. The trip visited three cultural sites in Selangor: The Kajang Heritage Centre, the Kajang Sin Sze Si Ya Temple, and the Malaysian Chinese Museum.

The first stop was the Kajang Heritage Centre, where the speaker, Lee Cheng Jun, explained the area's history and culture. Next, the students visited the Kajang Sin Sze Si Ya Temple, where the guide Lim Bi Wen introduced them to the spiritual beliefs and religious practices of the Malaysian Chinese community.

In the afternoon, the group visited the Malaysian Chinese Museum, where they learned about the history and contributions of the Malaysian Chinese community through exhibits and historical materials.

The day ended with laughter and joy, as the students gained a better understanding and appreciation of Malaysian society and culture.
