Orientation Day for International Students (Undergraduate & Master of Education) May 2026 Intake
To help a new cohort of international students begin their academic journey in Malaysia smoothly, the Institute of International Education of New Era University College hosted the “Orientation Day for International Students (Undergraduate & Master of Education) May 2026 Intake ” on 7 May 2026.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Ng Khai Boon, Head of the International Academic Exchange Office, delivered a welcoming address on behalf of the Institute of International Education. He emphasized that the institute’s mission is to provide comprehensive and timely academic and pastoral support for all international students. Dr. Ng reminded students to uphold good conduct, comply with university regulations and Malaysian laws, and remain academically responsible. He also highlighted that the three-year undergraduate programme requires steady engagement with assessments, while the one-year Master of Education programme progresses rapidly and demands early adaptation.
During the student life briefing, Ms. Lee Hui Wen, Head of the International Student Affairs Department, introduced Malaysia’s multicultural environment, linguistic diversity, religious background, and year-round tropical climate, encouraging students to take precautions against the heat and adapt well to the local environment. This was followed by academic guidance from Ms. Lee Yun Xin, Head of the Department of Chinese as a Second Language, and Education Programme Specialist Ms. Chin Wai Ching, who explained key academic requirements and assessment standards to help students adapt to their academic journey.
The orientation concluded with a group photo, symbolizing a warm beginning for the new students. The session not only equipped students with essential academic and daily life information but also strengthened their understanding of campus life, laying a solid foundation for their studies in Malaysia.
